B&L sponsors a number of activities for employees and their families throughout the year including outings to the local zoo, professional and collegiate sporting, cultural and recreational events. Each office sponsors their own company picnic which includes great food, games, and other activities. The annual chili cookoff, ice cream social, and putt-putt golf tournament (in the halls of our office) have become highly-anticipated traditions. Our annual Holiday Party is another lively event that we hold every December.

We encourage employee sports teams that compete in local recreational leagues. Our softball team is made up entirely of B&L employees, while our volleyball team is co-ed and open to spouses of B&L employees. Win or lose, we always have a great time and put forth our best effort! B&L is always looking for new opportunities to form company teams and welcomes any suggestions.

Giving back to the communities that have supported us for nearly 50 years is very important to us. Whether it involves money, time, or resources, we continuously seek ways to exert positive influence on our community. B&L sponsors or supports Earth Day cleanups, food and toy drives, blood drives, and numerous other fund-raising activities. Our technical staff helps local school children at events such as the Science Olympiad. For two year’s running, members of our staff have mentored local children in the Future City competition, resulting in two regional awards, and two opportunities to compete in the National Future City competition.
